Schools

Workshops, clean-ups and more

School visit during 12 Steden Plog

It is a cliché I know, but the schools is where we can make the biggest impact.

My aim isn't just to inspire them, or educate them; it is to do it in a way that sticks in their minds.
That brings out the smiles on their faces.
That makes them want to rush home and tell their parents about what they did.
About what they found out, and maybe even pass that on to their family.

Let's Arrange Something!

Send me an email and I will set up a call: paul@wayeoflife.com

Not just a workshop

I am a firm believer in educate through fun engagement.

Decades (!!) ago I trained as a Maths and Drama teacher - I was never one to make a class boring!

I am there to support the work the teachers have done and bring it to life. The banana suit definitely does that!

Real life statistics

Don't expect me to spout out facts. Here is an example of how I bring to life the impact of plastic packaging.

In my hand I have some plastic packaging, like an empty packet of sweet.

I ask the kids to tell me how quickly they normally eat the sweets

This gets them engaged and laughing

"I can eat them all in 30secs!"

"I can do it in 20!"

"10!"

I will then ask them how long the packaging will last

Almost always they know the answer is "forever"

Which lets me say "It is a bit weird, huh, that you buy some sweets to eat. That they don't last very long before they are finished, but the packaging that you bought them in, lasts forever?"

It is only a simple conversation, but brings home the things they have already learnt in class

Activities

We can come up with a visit together that supports the work already done by the teachers.

But be warned.. I come with a stamp! haha
