#1000PlasticBottleEarthSuit .. the aftermovie 🤗 Yesterday I ran egmond half marathon in an outfit weighing 32kg, and containing 1000 Plastic Bottles picked up off the streets during my daily plogs. A few special ones where gifted by friends who also put their names on the bottles. I make crazy outfits and give myself these ridiculously hard adventures to see how far I can push myself. To find when I will break. I do it for myself But I do it to inspire. I hope that people will think.. "heck, if he can do that stupid thing, then the least I can do it pick up a piece of trash" Because that is all I ask; that the next time you go outside you pick up a single piece of trash, put it in the bin and say to yourself "there you go Paul, you idiot!"🤗 And you know what.. if you do that, you straight away become my hero. .... Be afraid egmond half marathon .. be very afraid 💯 Took version 2 out.. in happy. Strong and holds its shape. As for the weight?, well, two out of three ain't bad. Next steps.. Add the 1000 plastic bottles to the inside Paint the globe on the outside (the oceans will remain see through so that you can see the plastic bottles On track for an epic Egmond.. my favorite race of the Year and its 50th edition.. so we need to make it epic! All 1000 bottles are picked up as trash. Some were gifted from friends who signed their bottles. I am thinking of leaving the countries uncoloured as well on the globe and giving people a green marker pen if you want to put you name on the suit.. good idea? #PlogX January edition.. biggest turnout ever!!!! I am so so soooooo truly grateful to all the people who attended and have ever attended.. When runxhaarlem and I first came up with the idea of a monthly cleanup/log, this is how we envisioned it. Wow. #CANUARY25 - Day 2 .. damnit. I failed.. but made a new pledge. 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲.. During January (err.. I mean #CANuary ), I only pick up cans.. but this spot was so awful, I just had to clean it up. Heaps of fireworks from the apartments, but also more trash from the shops (it gets blown here from around the corner) I could make this a negative story and tag the shops etc.. but let's make it a positive one instead.. so I just cleaned it up. While I was doing it I had so many lovely conversations and thanks from people.. but the best was a young guy who bought me a banana!! ( I don't think he realised the significance of a 🍌😂😂😂) I have now made a promise.. I will keep this area clean for the year and plog this 50m section 3 times a week #𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆𝟮𝟱 Once done, I got a long run in.. I really wanted to get some big numbers of cans.. I was shocked how few I got. Sure.. 121 is a lot.. but last year this route would have given me 250.. and pre deposit system?.. 500 at least! After 2 Days.. Totals 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯: 𝟳𝟭𝟱 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: 𝟮𝟭𝟭 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱: 𝟭𝟴𝟳 (𝟭𝟮𝟭 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆) Today's breakdown alcoholic: 31, energy: 47, soda: 43 and also bottles: 61 420L of trash Cans placed in recycling 28 cans were good enough to be gifted via @statiegeldbak (€4.20) And of course.. Test run in #1000PlasticBottleEarthSuit No bottles in the suit yet. But wanted to see if it would hold together on a run.. a successful trial! I need to add some structure inside as it lost its shape a bit due to the wind. It is clear I need to have the suit high up so that I can get some speed. Super happy. And it definitely makes an impression. On the five min run got 4 car honks and saw people filming me To do.. Reinforce structure internally to keep shape Wash bottles and fill the suit Seal it up Add the design and decals For egmond half marathon I am not adding the moon ..
