For now, 81 car tyres was enough Clearly a truck/large van was driven there at night and everything thrown out the back. The negative impact a single person can make to not just the planet, but the community we live in, is immense. This is how I ran the Rotterdam marathon in an outfit made from trash.. 600 ALUMINIUM CANS that I picked up while #plogging around Haarlem (where I live).; Plogging = picking up trash while running. Just on my daily runs I pick up 40,000L of trash each year. I have been plogging since 2011. I chose Rotterdam because of the crowds.. you will see why in the video. There are two specific clips in this that are just an UNEDITED long scene. The crowds warranted it. WHY? Each day we wake up and there is a new horror in the news. I wanted to bring a positive story. This isn't about the NEGATIVE aspect of trash. This is about the POSITIVE action we can all make. When you pick up a piece of trash it shows you care. You care about the future. Our future. Egmond Half Marathon www.egmondhalvemarathon.nl An historic and tough half marathon..run on the beach and dunes in mid January I went there with a plan. To draw attention to the 600 cans I was wearing (400 on the outfit and 200 on the flag) #missionaccomplished From a comment on a taylorswift movie poster post (on Instagram) that said "your banana suit doesn't glitter" that got me thinking about a dress made of cans.. to seeing Tina Muir run nycmarathon in a skirt from trash that turned on the 💡 to run this historic and epic half marathon.. it turned into something more powerful than I could imagine. next week I will make an additional post that explains every element of the outfit and the intent behind it.
